I think that I must be crazy!

I have decided to do Lain's LOAD Challenge for 2010. Click here... to learn more about it. I don't scrap enough, at least not the stories that I want to be telling. I am hoping with a five day weekend and one furlough day in February I just may get it all done. I don't think that I will actually get a layout done a day BUT if I end up with 28 layouts by February 28th, I will be extremely happy.

Ok-now I am off to get my stuff in order. I have no idea what each days challenge will be. Let's hope I can do this Ü

Santa

Got this one scrapped too. I love this picture of Zane with Santa. Sadly, I think it will be the last. He's a smart guy and I think is catching on.

Locks of Love

I FINALLY got the pictures of Zane on a layout. I can't believe how much he has grown since these pictures where taken in January 2009.

I am still not happy with the sun situation. The colors on this are SO much brighter than this.

For the love of the game

Yay! The sun was out for a few minutes so I was able to get a good picture of this layout about Jeremy and his love of the game. I am working on an album of all his years playing. I picked out some pictures and decided to make a layout of the last 10 years he has played. He started in 1999 at the age of 3 playing "Tiny Tots" and worked his was up to Little League Majors.
This kid lives for baseball! (and so do his parents Ü)

Scrappin' the day away

I was able to scrap most of the day yesterday. I thought that I would get more done but I had laundry to do too so it cut into my scrappin' time. Here is week two (for me!) of Helen's Challenge. We still have NO SUN so the pictures are a bit yuck-o!

I also finished this layout of Aaron and the boys ice skating at Long Barn. They had fun while I froze.

I made this little 8x8 page of our trip to see The Stockton Thunder. They lost in OT but it was still fun. We met up with our friends and hung out before the game. The kids all got jerseys and also a polar bear Webkinz. Zane was so excited to get, yet another, stuffie!

Christmas Cards 2009

I never really know what to do with all of the Christmas card pictures that we get each year. I want to keep them (I have a ton in a box) or display them somehow. I was looking at Laura's blog which is one of my favorites and she had this idea. GENIOUS!! So clever she is. I ordered some true fit folio's from CTMH and got started. I used some old Basic Grey Blizten collection that I had. I just found it in my last weekend's big scrapbook purge.
Here is the front. It is our Christmas picture for this year.

Here is the inside:

And the back:

Sorry the pictures are not that great. The sun decided to hide again today. It came out for a day or so and then left again. (BOO!)

I am up to the challenge

I have been wanting to do Helen's challenges for a while now. I did a few and then life just got in the way. I had some time this morning so I thought that I'd jump right in.
I decided to use Good Times Paper Pack from Close to My Heart. I originally wanted this to be pictures of Zane's 10th birthday but I couldn't find the pictures so I decided to use the pictures from his first performance. I thought it came out cute.
Being a California girl... I sure haven't seen the sun in a LONG time. I miss it--It's been so long I don't think that I even remember what it looks like Ü. With that said... sorry for the crappy pictures. It's hard to take a decent picture with no sun (boo!)

Here is Helen's blog post if you want to join too:

Last day of vacation...

January 3, 2010
The last day of winter break was supposed to be spent at home finishing laundry and putting away the rest of the Christmas decor. My sister called and wanted to go on a scrapbook store run... I couldn't say "no" so off we went. Forgot to take pictures but did take this one of a cute magnet board. Even bought the materials to make one for myself!

Mine will be much cuter and not have missing letters (ha!)

Pinecrest

January 2, 2010
We took the kids to Pinecrest to play in the snow. We brought the sleds and all the snow gear. Our friends the Anderson family were there too. We met up with them for a few hours to play!

The evidence of a good time

January 1, 2010
We had our friends the Selee's over for a low-key New Years Eve. We got some poppers and silly string and went to town at midnight. Here is the evidence of a great time. The kids promised to clean it all up
(yeah, right!)

Highlights from 2009

What a year! I have been dwelling on my losses this year rather than my blessings. 2009 was not a good year. I am hoping 2010 will be much brighter and happier.

January

We went geocaching with Cara and Hayley in San Francisco. I can't find the original picture so here is a picture of the layout I did in our geocaching album.

February

I have been on this earth for 37 years! I don't often feel like I am 37... usually I feel about 25 (before I started having children Ü). I am thankful for my sweet husband and my two fantastic boys. They make it all worth it!

March

March means BASEBALL! Opening day was March 7th. We spent many an evening out on the field cheering on Jeremy and his team. They took the championship!! Hard work and a great coach make all the difference.

April

This was the last picture that I have of my Dad with me. We lost him in April and it still hurts. I am thankful to have had such a wonderful, loving, and unselfish father. May he rest in peace.

May

My baby hit the DOUBLE digits. He talked about being double digits for months before his birthday. Time has sure gone by fast. This kid cracks us up! I have no idea where he came from but we are so lucky to call him ours.

June

Happy Father's Day Aaron! We went river rafting with five other families on Father's Day. It was a beautiful day filled with lots of laughter (and lots of water!)

July

We spent five wonderful days camping at Morro Bay. We took the kids to see Heart Castle for the first time. They enjoyed it. The weather was beautiful we hated to come back...

August

I participated in my first "fun run." I decided to start training on June 1st and was ready for the run in August. I got a rude awakening... training on a treadmill was totally different than actually running on the street. I've signed up for a 5k in March and vow to get a much better time.

September

Aaron took the boys to Jamestown to check out the trains from Back to the Future III. They had a great time. We decided to try and keep September low key since we had to keep our routines since school started.

October

We went to our first ever Oktoberfest. It was so much fun that we are going to all go again next year. Our picture was even featured in a business magazine for Modesto. We are FAMOUS! ha

November

There is a TEENAGER in the house. How could this be?? We have a teenager! We could not ask for a better kid. Jeremy is thoughtful and loving and is a great friend to everyone he meets. He is the perfect child! We love him and are very proud to call him ours.

December

Zane performed in two plays with TYPA right at the beginning of December. It made for some busy evenings and lots of sewing on Mom's part. The shows were a success and Mr. Zane was the perfect Santa.

That is it for 2009. Here's to 2010...
